The Advanced Open Water Diver certification is one of the most rewarding certifications. It opens many doors into a variety of different specialty diver certifications. In order to be certified as an Advanced Open Water Diver, you must complete a Deep Dive, Underwater Navigation Dive and three additional specialty dives for a total of five dives. You may even be able to get college credit for this course!

After your five dives, you’ll be more experienced, feel more comfortable in the water and simply enjoy diving more because you better understand the underwater environment. The PADI Advanced Open Water Course has NO class sessions, only one orientation session. The course is mainly focused on the specialty dives that you choose to experience with your Instructor.

• PADI Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)
• Minimum age: 15 (12 for PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver)

• You can complete the training in one weekend, or over two Saturdays or Sundays

• Purchase the Adventures in Diving Crew-Pak with Data Carrier Slate.
• The diver must provide all scuba equipment for certification dives (Owned or rented equipment) to include regulator, dive computer, BCD, mask, fins, weight belt & weights, wetsuit, and tanks with required air fills (air or nitrox as needed).
• Must have a Log Book or purchase one if you lost yours.
• Have or purchase a Surface Signaling Buoy (for all ocean dives)
• Have a Compass
• Underwater light and glow stick are mandatory if doing a night dive. A dive light is strongly recommended when diving during the daytime as well to allow for a diver to look under ledges and in holes in the reef to find hiding sea creatures. 
• Knife and Gloves (recommended strongly when diving in the ocean)
