They have a 26 ft 6" Sea Fox Center Console that is setup to carry a maximum of 6 divers. They do have a 4 diver minimum requirement.
This is NOT a guided dive. The boat we will give an overview of each specific dive site, draw a map, and answer any questions that you may have. They will also review navigation skills with you before the dive if need be. A compass is strongly recommended.
Most dives are typically around 15-30 ft, though the shallowest spots are about 12 ft and the deepest is around 39 ft. With no bottom time limits, just 500 PSI minimum tank pressure on return.
This is a low visibility dive. The average visibility for fossil dives in Venice is 6-10ft. That being said, we have some days where the visibility is 20+ feet and some days where it is lower. We do not dive when the visibility is less than 3-5ft.
You DO NOT typically need a permit to dive with a charter company that is licensed and permitted to collect fossils. However, always check with the company first to make sure their permit covers you!! DO NOT ASSUME!!
Florida Permits are cheap and easy to obtain, if required/desired. The Florida Fossil Collecting Permit Application and additional details are available HERE (also can be downloaded below).
